TODDLERS
(18 months to 36 months)
They’re doing it; Growing, Exploring, Learning!!
Your child’s classroom is designed with age-appropriate toys and equipment in various learning centers. Play activities include music and movement, reading stories, sensory play (with water, play dough, sand, etc.), play with toys that stimulate intellectual and motor development, experiences with appropriate, non-toxic art media, and pretend play. Children are encouraged to explore the various centers independently, as well as working cooperatively with their friends.
Empowerment Program
Next Generation has two toddler classrooms. Our Toddler 1 program teaches children ages 18 months -2 years old and our Toddler 2 program teaches children ages 2-3 years old. Toddlerhood is an exciting stage in your child’s development. It is a time when language, social, physical and cognitive skills begin to flourish. Our toddler curriculum consists of prayer, scripture reciting, daily routines and structure that uses the classroom environment as an extension of the teacher and allows children to learn through exploration and play that stimulates all their senses.
Teachers encourage the toddler’s move toward independence by supporting their attempts to self-feed, use the toilet and dress themselves. The daily program invites the young child to play and actively explore the environment during waking hours. Opportunities for outdoor play are included in the daily routine.
Program Priority
Both classrooms focus on fostering social skills, language development and early math and science concepts. Teachers are positive role models in demonstrating awareness of others, recognizing emotions and self-regulation. The daily routines engage active Toddlers with movement songs during group time, a sign-language program and also an introduction to Spanish that will help support building their communication, language, and vocabulary.
